Diana Ries Designs provides public relations (PR) to organizations and individuals to gain exposure for their audiences using topics of public interest and newsworthy items.
Good PR can be an image shaper, generating positive publicity for a client to enhance their reputation.
Media coverage can help launch a new product, brand, office relocation, anniversary and more. Quality media lists and good follow up can be the tipping point between a mediocre campaign and a great one.
A marketing campaign should include PR as well as other cross promotion avenues.
Chevron Global Aviation
Chevron Corporation is one of the world’s leading energy companies with 53,000 employees. In this tight economy, with reduced budgets, they needed to find a more economical way of gaining media coverage for themselves, their sponsorship program and the FBOs they serve. They came to us in April of 2009. These were their goals:
1. Obtain positive press for sponsorship program with aerobatic pilot, Julie Clark
2. Obtain press for the FBOs Julie visits along her show route on behalf of Chevron.
The plan was simple. It’s called tenacity. For each FBO Julie Clark visited; local and regional newspapers and TV stations were called, and emailed. Then, called and emailed again, and again, and again.
Reporter visits were confirmed and reconfirmed.
By being tenacious, we were able to obtain press in newspapers or video interviews for every FBO visit that didn’t have a weather delay. This kind of success has never been obtained for Chevron before.
