When we were hired, room night reservations for the last six years had been steadily declining within this group of lodging properties. Several reasons, including absentee owners and poor marketing, contributed to the decline. This Colorado property came to us in the fall of 2006 for a one-year marketing plan with the simple goal of raising occupancy numbers by 5%.
The one-year plan included a complete overhaul of their image, along with targeted print advertising, quarterly mailings to past guests, newsletters, plus a revamped website and logo.
In the first 3 months of the following year they showed a 19% room reservation increase over the prior year.
